MAHILA SAMRIDHI YOJANA
The Delhi Cabined led by Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, on Saturday approved the Mahila Samridhi Yojana coinciding with the International Women’s Day. Under the scheme, eligible women beneficiaries will receive Rs. 2,500 every month after they register on a government portal.
The government has allocated Rs 5,100 crore to the scheme, which was a major poll plank of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in the lead up to the Delhi Assembly election.
Under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojan, women residing in Delhi between the ages of 18 years to 60 years and whose family income is less than Rs. 3 lakhs per annum and who do not pay taxes are eligible to receive the benefits of this scheme.
While an exact list of documents required has not been release yet, the following documents will prove helpful in registration under this scheme:
People will also have to provide their mobile numbers to the authorities.
The forms of the scheme are to be linked with applicant’s Aadhar numbers. The form will typically require information such as the beneficiary’s name, location, address and bank account linked with bank account.
When a Candidate fills the form, the portal will verify and check if the candidate is eligible or not, if she is a taxpayer or is availing any government scheme such as widow pension and old age pension, and if any duplicate is found, the form will be rejected.
The Current Delhi Government will launch an online portal where the woman of Delhi can register themselves for the scheme. The government is also developing a software besides this portal by the IT department, which will verify all submitted forms and identify eligible women.
